Music is my Life… my forte

I am a Denver musician who plays guitar and dobro. I enjoy performing genres such as jazz, jazz-fusion, country, bluegrass, rock, blues, and pop. I am available for work with artists who may need a guitar or dobro player for their band, record, or song.

About
Dylan Kober

I am a Denver based guitarist, dobro player, and audio engineer who focuses mainly on musical performance in such genres as jazz, fusion, bluegrass, country and rock. As an audio engineer, my work consists of recording, mixing, and mastering my own music projects, with an emphasis on recording jazz and bluegrass groups.

In addition to performing and recording, I have been a guitar and dobro instructor for several years at Castle Rock Music, where I have been teaching a variety of styles to students of all age groups and skill levels.

In 2021, I obtained a dual bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, Denver where I studied Jazz Guitar Performance, and Audio Engineering, and beginning Fall Semester 2022, I’ll be joining the faculty there to teach Guitar 101.

I am currently working with several bands in Denver, such as jazz fusion group Messenger Music Collective and the Jason Bower Jazz Quintet, as well as a number of bluegrass bands, including High Lonesome, new grass/ jam grass band Scott Slay and the Rail, and the Timberline Troubadours.  In addition, I contributed my musical skills to various other artists and projects, such as Bonnie Utter: Strange Dame, the French Opera "Blacksmith", an Opera Lafayette production, America band Jon E.Boothe and the Nightwatch, and pianist Bharat Bhargava.

WORK

Kaleidoscope

Below is some of my currently ongoing work. I enjoy a fairly rigorous schedule playing gigs with a number of bands in and around Denver, as well as being available for solo work at private functions.
I also teach guitar lessons, from beginner  -> advanced.  And I enjoy picking through new and previously loved instruments at the Pickin' Parlor in Old Town Arvada.
In addition to playing the music I enjoy, I am engaged in recording my own songs at a studio specializing in  Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio.
